We are excited that Mission Estancia will be participating in the 2019 Great Kindness Challenge, where we will join thousands of schools across the country to create a culture of kindness. Your child is part of a powerful and positive bullying prevention initiative that will lead to more kindness, unity, and respect at school and beyond. Below are the activities we have planned for the week:
Monday, January 28th: Students and parents will be welcomed to school with a Kindness Rally at drop off. Prepare to have a fun start to your Monday morning!
Monday, January 28th: The PTA has provided each student with the Great Kindness Challenge Checklist. Please encourage your child to take action with this checklist. See how many activities they can complete this week…and beyond! Have fun with this!
Kindness Stations: Your child will have the opportunity to write a kind note for Meals on Wheels recipients, elderly nursing home residents, or to a friend or teacher!
School Wide Art Project: Your child will be participating in a school wide art project: “Kindness Starts with ME!” Look for their artwork on the office bulletin board and around the school.
Daily Quotes: Student Ambassadors will be reading daily kindness quotes over the announcement system.
Canned Food Drive: We will be supporting the San Diego Food Bank with a school wide Canned Food Drive during the week. Boxes will be in each classroom.
Wednesday, January 30th: Enjoy a meal at any Rubio’s…20% of sales will go to Kids for Peace, the non-profit that hosts the Great Kindness Challenge, www.thegreatkindnesschallenge.com, www.kidsforpeaceglobal.org
We hope you and your family enjoy The Great Kindness Challenge!
